Nick is an ironworker who repairs bridges and is at heart a good man. Kitty is his wife, a dressmaker and a strong but gentle woman, together they have three daughters. Unfortunately Nick is having a torrid affair with a buxom redhead, the extrovert Tula, a secret that is about to be shared with his outraged family. Imaginative, witty, touching and beautifully performed, John Turturro's directorial debut is a delightfully quirky affair.
