A sequel to 1973's award-winning Scenes From A Marriage, Bergman again follows the relationship between Marianne (Liv Ullmann) and Johan (Erland Josephson), who meet again, after thirty years without contact, when she decides to visit him at his old summer house in the western province of Dalarna. And so, one beautiful autumn day, there she is, beside his reclining chair, waking him with a light kiss.
