Labouring under the belief that they are the sole survivors of a ravaged earth, humanity lives underground in a strange combination of �Logan's Run', Orwell's �1984' and a vast shiny white enamel urinal. When one person decides to show individuality all hell breaks loose, and our initially naive hero discovers the horrible truth behind the reason for his existence. The Island is a sort of dystopia-lite that swiftly eschews any depth, or indeed point, in favour of a huge pyrotechnic heavy chase movie and on that simple level it's pretty entertaining stuff.
