SWIMMING UPSTREAM (2003)
RUSSELL MULCAHY
Plot
Tony Fingleton is one of Harold's sons and the central focus of his father's drunken abusive tirades. Tony seeks refuge in the rhythmic tranquillity of swimming and the hope that one day he will be good enough to finally make his father proud, but when dad pits son against son Tony finally realises that victory is his only chance of escape. Based on a true story, Swimming Upstream is a beautifully performed and directed drama.
