Based on an unlikely true story, Coach Carter recounts the hugely controversial decision by a basketball coach to lock his undefeated high school team out of the gymnasium because of their poor academic performance. Ken Carter was determined that his team should have a future that extended beyond the blip of gang brotherhood and perhaps brief sporting fame, a difficult choice to make when all around you are only thinking of the here and now. Coach Carter is a powerful sporting drama, convincingly helmed by the typically charismatic Samuel L Jackson.
