Nicolas Cage does Indiana Jones in this no-brainer action adventure blockbuster. He plays a treasure hunter after an ancient and mysterious treasure that has been locked up in a labyrinth of secrecy by a Freemason society of yore. Unfortunately, the treasure is also being pursued by a ruthless villain who will use the discovery to alter the course of humanity. Lacking in charm, atmosphere and with a shockingly low expectation of the audience's IQ, National Treasure is considerably more entertaining than it deserves to be, thanks in no small part to a huge special effects budget. Great mindless fun!
