Michael is a simple man with simple expectations, but when his wife runs off to Blackpool with the captain of the darts team he knows the time has come to make a stand. Hopping onto his trusty scooter Michael sets off in hot pursuit, but it is the people he meets on his journey rather than the destination that are set to change his previously meek approach to life. Heartlands is a sweet natured British comedy drama, which works with considerably more charm than many that have come before it.
