Angelina Jolie plays a an FBI agent who specialises in getting into the minds of serial killers, so far so familiar, but hold your ponies, the more she investigates a multiple murderer who's taking on the personalities of those he kills, the more she begins to suspect it may be the guy she's dating!…oh, hang on that's pretty well ploughed territory as well. Taking Lives is an unremarkable thriller, slick and pacey for sure, but as naff as Barbie in Punk chic and with a ‘twist' that's as surprising as finding out some trees lose their leaves when it gets chilly.
