Plot

For May life seems to have sputtered to a halt with the death of her husband, in her loss she sees for the first time the indifference of her adult children and that far from providing her with consolation they compound her feeling of dislocation and obsolescence. Into this lonely world comes Darren, a man half May's age and the lover of her daughter. Drawn to the young man, the two begin an initially unlikely but tender relationship. The Mother is an intriguing and original drama that explores with sensitivity and perception a subject that shouldn't make us feel as uncomfortable as it does.
