Successful feminist author Barbara Novak has become the unwitting target of dapper playboy journalist Catcher Block, but Catcher's cynical attempt to woo and ultimately humiliate Barabara is about to come back and give him one mother of a bite. Down With Love has nothing new to say on the old romantic comedy roundabout but its vivid early-sixties visual style, reminiscent of the classic Doris Day romcoms, is a delight.
