What Ray Elwood lacks in devotion to his flag he more than makes up for in devotion to his own well being. As a sergeant in the American army stationed in Germany, Ray has cornered the blackmarket in just about everything, but when a new sergeant moves into the base to clean things up, it would appear Ray's easy street is about to be closed for some major resurfacing. Buffalo Soldiers is a dark, pacey, and at times ludicrous satire, with a repugnant anti-hero, whose only redeeming feature is that the bad people are considerably worse than him and the good people are complacent and incompetent.
