John Preston is a cleric, now depending upon where you stand on the subject of Christianity this is either an amusing satirical swipe or an upstanding reason for the return of capital punishment, because John lives in an Orwellian future where emotions are punishable by death and to be a cleric is to enforce this law with a bullet. Equilibrium is a cheesy concept implemented in a none too convincing manner, but the fight scenes are spot on, and there are enough of them to make the plot, script, etc forgivable.
