REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES (2002)

Plot
Ana is a first generation Mexican American and a bright, full-figured, working class teenager desperate to escape the stifling embrace of her orthodox upbringing and overbearing mother. While Ana is well on the path to acknowledging her own self worth the story is also about the constrictive social interpretation of what is 'Beautiful' that we have burdened ourselves with. Real Women Have Curves is a gentle, perceptive, vibrant and often funny observation of womanhood and the real deal of body beautiful.
