Melanie Carmichael is a young woman on the move, recent darling of the New York fashion scene and just engaged to the most eligible bachelor in the city, life would seem to be too good to be true, and indeed it is. Melanie's childhood home is a small eccentric town in Alabama and lurking there with her loving, but kooky, parents is Mel's husband. Determined to get hubby to finally sign the divorce papers Melanie decides to return to her roots, but the place she couldn't wait to leave is determined to make her escape a difficult one yet again. I know this stars the ever likable Reese Witherspoon but Legally Blonde it aint. A sweet natured but lack lustre romantic comedy.
