Delrona Beach, Florida is a sleepy coastal town that has pottered along pretty much as it is for as long as anyone can remember, but when the real estate developers eventually and inevitably desend, the townsfolk are thrown into turmoil. Some see the outsiders arrival as the opportunity they've been waiting for while others see it as the destruction of a life they love. The film follows the lives of several members of the community and, like Sayles' excellent Lone Star, we gradually uncover the secrets of the past. Unbelievably good.
