Set in the harsh and unforgiving environs of Brazil in 1910; ordered by his father to avenge the death of his older brother a son finds himself beginning to question the brutality of the world in which he lives and the all-consuming vendetta that has plagued his family for generations. The arrival of love galvanises the young man into experiencing a world outside the murderous and honour bound one he has always known, but will he find the courage to leave his family obligations behind and seek some kind of future. Behind the Sun is an exquisitely shot tale told with passion and heart, highlighting ritual and metaphor, the narrative carries a poetic clarity and richness reminiscent of Greek tragedy and myth.
