Plot

Conor O'Neill is a gambler and when we meet up with him, he's not very successful. Deep in debt to some pretty hard arse loan sharks Conor reluctantly accepts a job to coach a motley crew of inner city Chicago kids how to play baseball. Hardball is not an original slab of movie making but it is an enjoyable and ultimately uplifting drama, in a "oh I just knew that was going to happen" sought of way.
