Keifer Sutherland is Jack Bauer, director of the Los Angeles unit of CTU (Counter-Terrorist Unit), there is an assasination threat against a persidential candidate, Jack's daughter has snuck out and his wife has gone looking for her. The action takes place in real time cutting between the CTU, Kim Bauer's night on the town and the headquarters of Senator David Palmer.
