Another reworking of the Jack the Ripper legend adapted from a Graphic novel, this sees Inspector Abberline as our tortured hero, his brilliant mind heightened by psychic abilities brought on by the copious consumption of opium. From Hell has some pretty scary mockney accents courtesy of the film's two American leads and the scenes of Jack at work look like an 'X' rated pop video; The result is a mess of a movie that has a lot of visual atmosphere, but no guts...if you'll be begin' m' pardon f' sayin' so.
