A mother covers up a murder in order to protect her son from any implication, but someone knows and soon she is facing the spiralling world of blackmail and the more she attempts to keep the truth a secret the more costly and ultimately dangerous things become. Deep End is an accomplished thriller that deals more with the psychology and moral ambiguity of the central characters than the conventional thriller and though not particularly pacey as a consequence it's gripping stuff none the less.
