One of the finest dramas to come from America's shores for sometime (and that's acknowledging that there's some pretty stiff competition) the West Wing follows the exploits, adventures, dodgy dealings and every day ordered chaos that makes up the inner circle of the most powerful man in the world; The American President. As in anything this classy it is 'drama' in the true sense of the word, humour, tragedy and everyday, told and performed superbly. Its Christmas outside but there's pitifully little festive spirit inside the West Wing; The supreme court candidate is not as buffed as everyone had hoped and there's an investigation in drug abuse amongst the staff. Add to this the relevance of a homeless mans death and the escalation of hostilities between Pakistan and India, both now nuclear powers, and you have the recipe for a less than joyous Xmas party.
