Review
Old-fashioned, thoroughly wholesome adventure story, adapted from Ludwig Bemelmans' popular children's books. British newcomer Hatty Jones plays the high-spirited orphan Madeline, for whom life at a quaint Parisian boarding school is considerably livened up by the arrival of new neighbour the Spanish ambassador and his loathsome son, a plan to sell the school, and a kidnapping. Very authentic and terribly British.
