Much-loved children's book writer Howard Spitz (Kelsey Grammar) is, in reality, a sour-faced kid-o-phobe who hires an actor to impersonate him at book signings. But his life becomes complicated when he reluctantly befriends pint-sized Sam, and finds himself falling big-time for her mum (the vastly under-rated Amanda Donohoe). "Frasier" star Grammar is as deliciously deadpan as ever, but the cheesy romance will send most self-respecting kids off to sleep.
