Jerry is something of an idiot, heavily in debt he is offered the opportunity to make good by picking up a priceless antique pistol across the border in Mexico; Soon Jerry is up to his neck in bloodthirsty mobsters, but the one thing that really strikes fear into his heart is his volatile girlfriend Samantha. The Mexican is an uneasy mix of comedy, thriller and romance, entertaining but flawed and with more sexual chemistry going on between Roberts and James Gandolfini's gay assassin than there is between her and Pitt.
