Novalee Nation is just seventeen, heavily pregnant, unemployed, skint and with nobody to turn to...life does not look good. Sneaking into a Wal-Mart store Novalee decides to make a home for herself in the vast recesses of the building and sit out the last of her pregnancy; But what should by all rights be a hard bitten tragedy is instead an uplifting and life affirming tale, as Novalee discovers true friendship and genuine kindness in the most unlikely of places. Where The Heart Is is an endearingly quirky comedy drama and well worth a gander.
