A middle-aged couple (odd-job man Nick Nolte and his ageing ex-actress wife Julie Christie) find work at the home of a repressed yuppie couple. Marianne (Lara Flynn Boyle) is sexually frustrated and desperate for a baby, but cold-fish hubby Jeffrey (Jonny Lee Miller - "Trainspotting") steadfastly refuses to oblige. The randy Mr fix-it soon rumbles the unhappy state of his employers' marriage, and before you can say "Lady Chatterley", he and Marianne are going at it hammer and tongs, with their respective spouses swiftly following suit. Christie is the best thing in this occasionally touching but mostly tiresome study of marital strife.
