After a mediocre first half of Series 5, Friends gets back on top form with the latest episodes. In 'The One With Rachels Inadvertant Kiss', Monica and Chandler are going through a relationship crisis and Rachel's flirting gets her into deep water. In the second episode, Ross goes in for a soup commercial with son Ben which gets Joey on the defensive. Rachel finds the key to success at work is smoking. The next two episodes have Ross proving he makes a lousy flirt and Joey back on daytime television after his premature death on 'Days of our Lives'. Joey and Ross try to break a record in "The One With the Ball", while Rachel achieves her childhood dream of buying a Sphinx cat, which sadly turns out to be particularly vicious. In "The One With Joey's Big Break", Joey lands the lead role in a movie, but when Chandler accompanies him to Las Vegas he gets thrown out of the car for casting doubts on Joey's big break. In the double length episode "The One in Vegas", Joey resorts, secretly, to working as a casino gladiator when his movie falls through, but back in New York the Friends decide to pay him a surprise visit. While Ross and Rachel arrive at the casino in a drunken mess, Chandler and Monica make a serious wager about marriage.
