Review
From the renowned Merchant-Ivory team, this black love story is set in Dustbowl America, during the depression. A fine cast give powerful performances of small-town Americana with Redgrave as the prim Miss Amelia, whose behaviour comes to shock her neighbours. Dynamic and enjoyable offbeat drama. Based on the excellent short novel by Carson McCullers.
