Review
The screen version of Hans Christian Andersen's tear-jerking fantasy. Set in the winter of 1880 in London, the matchgirl leads a cold and lonely life earning the money which her father spends on drink. She retreats to her own secret world of music and laughter to escape her wretched existence.
