Review
It's wartime (the 1940s to be precise) and daddy Green has been despatched to fight the dreaded Hun leaving Mrs Green overworked, underpaid and having to cope with her 3 boisterous brats. To make matters worse the children are being joined by two snotty spoilt young city cousins, cue the arrival of Nanny McPhee (Mary Poppins with warts), a lady who rules both with an iron rod and with a touch of magic in her fingers. Meanwhile Mrs Green's cad of a brother-in-law Phil is trying to con her into selling her share of the farm in order to pay his gambling debts.
This is a highly enjoyable children's movie both funny and, at times, moving. Different family members learn to find each other's good points (to become family), there is an interesting set of characters and, hopefully, most children will look forward to the series being extended.
