An Agatha Christie whodunnit in which film buff Inspector Craddock has to untangle the motives and find the murderer amongst a lot of touchy film stars plunged into a timeless zone of the Home Counties, village lawns and pickled English character players. Murders occur as inexplicably and as regularly as teatime, but the main highlight is not the plot but the rollcall of puffy, under-rehearsed stars.
