Becky Sharp lives in a time where name and social standing are all, and ambitious young Becky has neither. What the young girl does have however is the face of an angel, the morals of a magpie and a mind that's more than a match for any of the aristocrats she hopes to mingle with. In her determination to better herself at any cost Becky plays each and everyone against each other, unfortunately it is only a matter of time before the power of her enemies outweigh those she can still count as her friends and benefactors. Vanity Fair is a decent big budget adaptation of William Thackeray's novel, but not as good as the BBC's adaptation.
