The Cooper family decide to escape the rat race of New York and move to the country, they buy a run down but beautiful old house and the locals are as helpful and friendly as you could hope. So far so good, unfortunately for the Coopers the handyman who's helping them renovate their new home was the last person to own the property, and he's mighty pissed that some prim city types now have the keys. Cold Creek Manor is a mystery that lacks plot revelation and dramatic tension; in fact the films biggest surprise is that Mike Figgis directed it! Any allusions to Cape Fear exist only in the minds of the delusional.
