Harry's adoptive family are still as revolting as ever so our hero is considerably keener than your average 12-year-old to get back to school and when the nervous self harming elf Dobby appears in his bedroom to warn him against returning, Harry is having none of it. 'Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets' sticks firmly to the format that the first film established, the special effects are great and some of the new creatures are genuinely scary but once again the enthralling simplicity of JK Rowling's stories suffers slightly in the conversion to celluloid. All in all it's good fun, though 30 minutes snipped off the running time of this two and a half hour film would have been even better.
