Nicholas Nickleby and his sister Kate turn to their uncle, Ralph Nickleby, after the death of their father leaves them impoverished. But Ralph is strongly disinclined towards his nephew and despite Nicholas' good natured character he finds himself collecting more detractors than benefactors as he struggles to provide for what is left of his family. The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby is a spirited adaptation of Charles Dickens' original story.
