A work of genius. A sort of 1984 gone haywire about a humble clerk and his efforts to find the girl of his dreams. The backgrounds and the details are all superb in one of the most immaginative films ever released, although the studio that put up the money wanted a happier ending. A Must see! find out more...

Transfer (1966), Cronenberg's first film, is a surreal sketch of a doctor and his patient. From the Drain (1967) finds two men in a bathtub, which may be part of a centre for veterans of a future war. Stereo (1969), Cronenberg's first official feature film, stunningly shot in monochrome, concerns telepaths at the Institute for Erotic Enquiry where patients undergo tests by Dr. Luther Stringfellow. Tim Allen is the enthusiastic leader of a group of washed-up-actors, who are laboriously trudging round the si-fi conventions 20 years after their show has been axed. SLEEPER (1973)

She: 'You haven't had sex in 200 years!?!?' He: '204, if you count my marriage'. Woody Allen's Rip Van Winkle movie, in which his Greenwich Village jazz musician /health food faddist awakes from an accidental cryogenic immersion to find that he's in 2174 in a society obsessed with pleasure. Plenty of one-liners and the Orgasmatron and other devices give Allen plenty of oppurtunity for mime. Pure, unadulterated Woody Allen at his funniest. find out more...

JJ Abrams reinvents Star Trek and the cast, going back in time to before Captain Kirk run a ship when he was a young, brash, arrogant, opinionated genius. The designs are immaculate, the characters engaging and this hugely budgeted sci-fi action adventure is high in entertainment - a renegade Romulan from the future wreaking revenge on the Federation with the use of a black hole! A must watch. find out more...
