What if Elvis didn't die on the 'john' in 1977, but switched identities with an Elvis impersonator during the early 1970's in order to escape the harsh glare of fame? Furthermore, suppose the real Elvis ended up in an East Texas retirement home rubbing shoulders with a black guy claiming to be JFK. Crazy?...Well maybe, but then again perhaps Elvis is alive and battling a soul-sucking mummy which is using his rest home as a feeding ground. Down in the tube station at midnight… Kate falls asleep while waiting for the last train and awakens to find the station deserted and locked up for the night. To cap it all off, Kate has been followed by a sleazy lothario whose atavistic advances she had spurned at a party earlier in the evening. George Romero's classic horror satire gets a rather more serious modern day makeover, resulting in a genuinely frightening addition to the zombie genre. The plot remains fairly true to the original, portraying a world where all the seats around Satan's dinner table have been filled, forcing the recently departed to walk the earth instead. Only this time they don't walk, see. They run. And it is this subtle change that moves this film from gory satire to an edge-of-the-futon suspense horror, as a find out more...
GREMLINS (1984)

Certification15 Our Rating

It looks like a quiet Christmas but when those cuddly little Gremlins arrive chaos starts. Brilliant bits of black comedy as the partying creatures create total mayhem for the human population, whether with chainsaw, cars, guns, or any other suitable artefacts. Some scenes may scare young children.

Playing against time, like Memento, this is a gut wrenching exploration of an horrific act of indiscriminate brutality and the vicious revenge that is its consequence. Irreversible is an exceptionally powerful movie and one of the most disturbing pieces of cinema I've ever seen (the tortuously protracted rape scene would have Ghandi screaming for the death penalty). Awesome....but you have been warned. find out more...

Five people are given the opportunity to take part in a game that offers the winner a million dollars, their challenge is to stay in an isolated house cut off from the world for six months. Hollywood remake of the 1994 cult Danish suspense thriller, faithfully translated almost word for word and scene for scene. Britain's own Ewan McGregor plays skint student Martin, who takes a job as the solitary nightwatchman in a city hospital. Unfortunately, a lunatic serial killer has just embarked on a gruesome spree and, even worse, most of the clues are leading straight back to Martin. Necrophilia, things that go bump in the night, and oodles of very black humour in this brilliant whodunni find out more...
