A scientific expedition sniffing around in the Amazon awaken the interest of a man in a rubber suit, who proceeds to stalk, kill and kidnap (he's infatuated with the pretty female on board) expedition members. 'Creature From the Black Lagoon' endures as a classic icon from 50s B-movie sci-fi/horror flicks. Every decent DVD library should have this even if it never rents. find out more...

Deep in the Louisiana Bayou something big and scaley lurks........and its hungry! A mix of hokey locals, buff scientists and too-rich-to-think-straight hunters face off against genetically engineered fish that are just as efficient at dispatching humans on the land as they are in the water. With some flaky CGI and a noticeable lack of tension in some of the action sequences, Frankenfish is still more fun than it should be and represents an above average addition to the creature-feature genre. find out more...

Though with the odd tacky moment, and some moments of banal behaviour, this movie is full of little suprises and very creepy, with a very taut sense of psc find out more...

A group of backpacking friends discover an ancient temple in the jungles of Mexico, but their delight soon turns to terror when they're attacked by aggressive locals and then savaged by a blood thirsty, but quite pretty, vine (yup, as in a plant). As terrifying as realising you've fried the garlic before the onion while cooking a ‘spag bol' for your mates, but some fun might be had from its unrelenting awfulness. find out more...

Kevin Smith had a podcast where they made a joke about the idea of kidnapping and turning a human into a walrus. It went viral on the twittersphere. Then it became a movie. This movie. Though the whole thing starts out well, with decent doses of good humour and dramatic tension, it all falls very quickly by the wayside. The result is a ridiculous prosthetic walrus suit that envelops Justin Long. Somewhere inside this mess of a movie there's a punchline, if only Smith could get to it without q find out more...
