A brilliant reworking of Alice in Wonderland by surrealist Czech filmaker Jan Svankmajer. Alice, the only human in the film, falls into a terrifying Wonderland populated by animated puppets and full of truily bizarre visuals; she changes size, becomes her own doll, when the White Rabbit loses his stuffing he simply secures his gaping chest with a safety-pin and eats the sawdust, eggs crack to reveal skulls, rolls sprout nails, steaks crawl..... but the very best scene is definitely the tea party find out more...

The legend of Beowulf, the bravest of the brave, a fearless warrior of such skill that his name has become myth. When Beowulf is called by the king of the Viking lands to rid the people of the monster Grendel our hero duly obliges, but even he may be no match for Grendel's lethal, temptress of a mother. I have one small question...why!? I'm sure 'performance capture' computer imagery is the future of movies, but frankly it still needs quite a bit of work, the humans are plastic characterless cre find out more...

An updated (and somewhat revised) version of the Anglo-Saxon legend with Beowulf coming to the aid of his friend and ally King Hrothgar whose kingdom is under siege from the maurading troll, Grendel. An entertaining tale of vengeance, loyalty and mercy whose use of real locations and unadulterated actors may well offer a more satisfying experience for those viewers disillusioned by the CGI-laden extravaganza Beowulf. find out more...

The premise of the film sees a grown up Christopher Robin tracked down by Winnie the Pooh to help find their friends. Ewan McGregor plays Christopher Robin and I thought he did a great job. He has a really tough job as he has to come across as quite a miserable character that you aren't meant to root for bu find out more...

"Whereas Sean Bean's grizzled Ned was the focal point for the audience in the first season, now everything has splintered. There are several kings vying for the titular Iron Throne, and although natural loyalties still lie with the Starks, you're also on the side of dragon mother Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and crafty, charismatic 'imp' Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage). In future seasons, these factions are bound to face each other in battle, but for now they have other fish to fry. R find out more...
