The follow-up to the astounding ‘Paradise Lost’. More and more, especially forensic, evidence comes to light that the non-existent case against the 3 is just that. Much of the film focuses on the prime alternative suspect, the step-father of one of the murdered children, a dangerously barking Church-going redneck, but the rightwing local state bureaucracy don't want to know, they've already got their man (sorry children). Damien, Jason and Jessie have matured visibly in prison, with Damien perha find out more...

TIn 1993 the naked and mutilated bodies of three 8-year-old boys where found in a shallow creek near the sleepy redneck Arkansas town of Robin Hood Hills. The ensuing police investigation soon focused on three local teens who dressed in black, had vaguely non-Christian beliefs and enjoyed heavy metal music. A rushed investigation and the pitiful court case that followed were all filmed with unprecedented access by a HBO documentary crew who came to believe that the three suspects were victims of find out more...

Two men find themselves trapped in a now deserted public baths; they are chained to the pipes, their only means of escape, a saw and a gun with one bullet. Dr Lawrence and his fellow prisoner are the latest victims of the Jigsaw Killer, a serial murderer who likes to test his prey's humanity as well as their will to survive. Throw in a borderline psychotic cop, unconvincingly played by Glover, a hostage family and some ingeniously gruesome flashbacks and Saw makes for a slightly uninspiring tilt find out more...

"Josephine Decker has created a new style of thriller that employs allegory, incorporates touches of David Lynch as well as Magritte -esque imagery. Decker's setting of a remote farm feels like a metaphor for what turns out to be hell. The raw and emotional (and yes, sometimes funny) dialog tells a story that can seem familiar at points but really is meant to keep you guessing and off balance. I really enjoyed how the undertones of this film came to life through her very deft contrast of the find out more...

Classic film noir from the pen and director's chair of Orson Welles. Set in a seedy Mexican border town the local police chief is corrupt and bigoted, his only enemy a crusading Mexican narcotics investigator, determined to bring the policeman to book and expose his murderous scams. Touch of Evil has all the stunning trade mark cinematography of an Orson Welles picture and is a superbly dark and brooding movie with some fine subsidiary characters. Kafkaesque. find out more...

Another Hitchcock masterpiece, featuring some of the most inventive and unsettling camera work in cinema. Stewart plays a retired detective who is hired by a friend to follow his unstable wife. However the plot is considerably more entangled than it appears from the outset as Stewart becomes a witness to the wife's death. A moody and considered psycho-drama... find out more...
