The original sequel to Hideo Nakata's deeply un-nerving "Ring" focuses on Dr Mitsuo Ando and his determination to understand and ultimately end Sadako's deadly wraith. The Spiral attempts to explain more than "Ring 2" and provide some kind of closure, but it was deemed too difficult to follow when first previewed. An intriguing alternative to Nakata's adaptation of Koji Suzuki's second book in the Ring trilogy.

After waking from a coma following a car crash, Hiroshi suffers from amnesia, barely recognising his own parents he re-enrols in medical school in an effort to re-establish some normality to his life. When he begins an anatomy course he is horrified and shocked to discover that he recognises the female cadaver he has to work on as his ex-girlfriend who died in the accident that hospitalised him. Vital is a hard film to categorise but as it comes from the imagination of Tsukamoto (of Tetsuo fame)

A series of mysterious deaths plague the students and teachers of an exclusive private school as the ghost of a young girl seeks revenge. School children, suicide, death and the supernatural, a combination repeated over and over again in Tartan's coffers. Predictably creepy and atmospheric but let's face it, if you've seen any of the other Asian 'haunted school' yarns (and there have been quite a few) it's nothing you haven't seen before.
