Just off the coast of Washington, buried away from prying eyes, lies a military psychiatric hospital, all of whose residents are high ranking officers suffering from extreme mental breakdowns. The man responsible for bringing them back to some semblance of reality is Colonel Hudson, a brilliant but highly unorthodox psychiatrist. As the therapy progresses Hudson's methods seem to be working or is it merely that the madness is beginning to effect everything within the facility. The Ninth Configuration is a cult psychological horror from the same pen as the writer of the Exorcist, you'll either find it a tense, atmospheric bit of mind play, or pseudo, psycho babble in danger of slipping up its own rear end. Here's hoping you find it the former.
