"Would-be" Broadway star, Mavis Turner has an evening job teaching tap dancing. Her class consists of a diverse array of rhythmically challenged amateurs, all dancing to a very different tune. When her former ‘snobbish' dance coach organises a charity performance Mavis is determined to enter her class and attempts to prepare them for the performance of their lives. Gradually we watch her mould her motley crew into a well-oiled dance machine. Typically Broadway, this is classic Minelli. Good-humoured and amusing at times, "Stepping Out" will have you tapping along from the start.
