The occupants of a crowded coffee shop are caught in the crossfire of a bungled casino heist. The clock is then turned back for six victims of the shooting, leading to the fated question of "what if". Extremely well written and powerful in places, "The life before this" offers a poignant look at fate and the seemingly insignificant decisions we make.
