Brit-com adaptation of Kathy Lette's best-selling novel. Maddy (Friel) is a single mum from Down Under, bringing up her baby in London whilst trying fruitlessly to track down its father. Her only friend is Gillian (Joanna Lumley in full-on Patsy mode), and Maddy's life goes from bad to worse when she's wrongly arrested stealing a bag of frozen peas from Harrods. Banged up, with the nutty prison shrink as her only ally, Maddy makes her escape in disguise, with Gillian smuggling baby Jack to freedom in her handbag. At which point things start to go really mad........
