A glossy, modern film-noir which is actually a convoluted rehash of Billy Wilder's classic "Double Indemnity". A dark tale of deceit, double dealing and death, the shenanigans centre on L.A estate agent and femme fatale Sandra Dunmore, who's having an affair with her brother-in-law Ben, and wants him to bump off hubby Jake, his own brother. But when Ben dumps Sandra and begins seeing his ambitious assistant Peggy, the words "hell hath no fury as a woman scorned" take on new meaning. As the bodies start piling up, there's just one fly in the ointment - detective Rita Pompano (Ellen DeGeneres), who's hot on the trail of both Sandra and her $8million booty. A bit muddled in places, but an engrossing thriller nonetheless.
