His high school graduation party is Preston Meyer's last chance to tell Amanda Beckett how he feels about her. It will also be his first chance. Amanda is the class knockout while Preston is an aspiring writer. In the universe of teen moviedom these two never go together...until the end of course. This flick, however, has a bit more class than the rest. While still giving in to the usual stereotypes and some grosser-than-thou comedy antics, character does actually seep through bringing with it truth and geniune feeling. Cult faves Ethan Embry (Empire Records), Seth Green (Austin Powers) and Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) only add to the credibility. Plus it's named after a song by The Replacements - excellent. (Another fun teen flick in which to spot cameos. See if you can find Selma Blair, Jerry O'Connell, Clea Duvall, Breckin Meyer, or anyone who's guest starred on Buffy.)
