Review
A low-budget curio from director Steven Soderbergh ("Sex, Lies and Videotape", "Kafka", "Out of Sight"), in which he stars as a humble flunky working on a speech for the leader of the "Eventualism" cult, whilst struggling to maintain his empty marriage. There's also a spy, employed by the cult to root out any moles, who is soon tempted out of the film by an offer to star in action movies. Later on, Soderbergh reappears as a dentist who's having an affair with the wife of his earlier character. Er, yes. A surrealist masterpiece or a pile of self-indulgent, pretentious twaddle? Well, as the director tells us at the beginning - if you don't understand his movie it's the fault of your own stupidity. So that's okay then.
