A modern film noir, set in downtown Manhattan, with Uma Thurman playing the ultimate femme fatale. As Laura, she's an evil enigma with no past and no conscience, hunting her prey amongst the lecherous loners who populate the seedier parts of town. Laura treats them first to the big seduction before robbing them blind, but upstairs from Laura lives William (Steve Buscemi) a middle-aged poet who'd be a prime target for Laura if she met him in a bar. But William harbours a secret grudge against Laura, who reminds him of the daughter who deserted him, and now it's payback time. Dark and deadly.
