A no-good street thug is shot dead by Lt Mike Brennan in a seemingly justified case of self-defence. The man appointed to tidy up the paperwork has serious doubts, but Brennan is virtually a legend in the force and prosecution is unthinkable. Nolte is excellent in this gripping tale of corruption.
